We had a long and difficult fight, but Ms. Itakura was always understanding, supportive, knowledgeable, and agile. When we were offered a good settlement in the tribunal, Ms. Itakura informed me of my options and was willing to go along with my decision to settle or go to trial, even though settling was likely in her best interests. In the end, we won every last yen owed by the dispatching and receiving companies. If you have been discriminated against as a dispatched employee, Ms. Itakura is a great choice to lead you through the arduousness of the labor bureau and tribunals, to victory and justice.

Another reviewer seems to have had worse luck, and I guess this was due to the weakness of Japan's labor laws paired with the relatively low payouts for damages such as stress from power harassment. Only in the right situations and with lots of strong evidence and perseverance can one have a shot of getting enough of a payout to justify the cost. Ms. Itakura's fees are reasonable; damages awarded by tribunals and courts are often not. But because I contacted Ms. Itakura early and diligently followed her good advice for documenting harassment and discrimination and collecting evidence, after nearly two years, we got a great settlement.
